Who we are

Rescue 404 (rescue404.com) provides remote website repair, diagnostics, Care plans, and related technical services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and intake forms, and how we use it.

Information we collect

When you submit a rescue, Care, commerce, waitlist, or similar request, we typically collect: your name, email address, website URL, business name (if provided), preferred contact method, platform and hosting details, a description of the problem, triage answers (for example whether the site is down or whether you have admin or hosting access), and any optional screenshots, logs, or PDF files you upload.

The Commerce Systems waitlist collects email plus optional name, store URL, and a short note. We use that only to notify you when store-ops enrollment opens. Waitlist rows are stored in a CSV file on our hosting (not published on the website). Joining the waitlist is not enrollment in Care or Commerce.

Free-text fields may contain additional information you choose to include. Do not paste passwords, payment card numbers, or other secrets into the form. After we reply, share logins only through a self-destructing link service such as Password Pusher or One-Time Secret.

How we use information

We use intake information to evaluate fit, respond to your request, perform paid diagnostics and repairs you approve, communicate about Care or other services, and keep operational records of the engagement. Waitlist emails are used only to send a Commerce Systems launch notice unless you later start a separate engagement.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use intake credentials or site access for marketing “audits” outside the agreed scope of work.

Processors and service providers

Our public intake forms post to a PHP handler on our hosting (AAPanel) that emails an operator inbox. Rescue and Care submissions are also stored as JSON under a non-public leads folder. Commerce waitlist signups are appended to a CSV in that same folder. Optional file uploads may be sent to Cloudinary (when configured) or included as links or embedded content in the intake email. Messages then reside with our email provider.

Self-destructing credential links you create on third-party services (such as Password Pusher or One-Time Secret) are governed by those services’ own policies. We ask you to send those links only after we reply, not in the public intake form.

If we later add advertising or analytics pixels (for example Meta), those providers will receive technical data as described in an updated Privacy Policy and, where required, a cookie consent tool.

Cookies and tracking

As of the date above, this marketing site does not run a first-party analytics suite or advertising pixel in production. Essential cookies may be set by the hosting platform or embedded third parties when you submit forms or upload files.

When marketing or analytics cookies are added, we will update this policy and deploy an appropriate consent / opt-out mechanism.

Retention

Intake emails, attachments, waitlist CSV rows, and related correspondence are retained in our inbox and working records as needed to respond, deliver services, handle billing disputes, and meet legitimate business needs. Temporary admin users and share links should be revoked or expired when the job ends; Care plans may require ongoing access by agreement.

Your choices

You may request access to or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to legal and operational limits (for example records needed for an active engagement or dispute). Contact us using the path below.

Children

Our services are directed to business operators and website owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices or tools change. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will change when we do. Material changes to intake processors will be reflected here.
